FLEX
by Jay Carlon
FLEX is a dance theater work that tells the story of the Filipino American narrative, inspired by Jay Carlon's upbringing as a competitive wrestler and being the youngest of 12 to a Filipino Catholic, agricultural migrant-working family. It explores themes of assimilation, colonization, obedience, resistance and solidarity.

FLEX first premiered at LA Dance Project in February of 2019 and has further been shared at OxyArts in Occidental College as well as California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
